WORLDWIDE

Having done a substantial amount of worldwide travel over the years I have taken many photographs which have inspired my artistic subjects. New York, Los Angeles, the French Riviera, Cuba and Venice have all featured in my eclectic mix of world city art scenes.

My Los Angeles canvases have included the historic hotel Chateau Marmont, the Pantages Theatre, Pink’s Hot Dog joint, and Mel’s Diner just off Hollywood Boulevard.

Whilst the New York scenes took in Times Square, and Radio City Music Hall as subjects. A most memorable trip to Cuba inspired me to paint an Havana street scene featuring the famous bar frequented by Ernest Hemingway - La Bodeguita del Medio.

Several trips to the French Riviera have fuelled a desire to paint the luxurious Carlton Hotel on La Croisette in Cannes (see  painting on Home Page) a favourite bolthole of the Hollywood A-listers during the annual film festival. And exploring the interesting backstreets of the Old Town in Nice on the Cote d’Azur would lead to another smaller canvas with it’s colourful tall buildings.
